What is SEO

Aren’t search engines like Google a miracle? You type in a couple of words – however strange they may be – and within fractions of a second your computer lists hundreds, if not thousands or even millions, of web sites that all promise to provide what you are looking for. This is truly amazing.

But there is also a downside to the story. If you are not at the top of those search engine results (and most importantly, on Google), you are basically invisible, at least on the Internet. Whatever you have to say, few people will find it. Unless, of course, they already know where to look for it. But we cannot assume that existing or potential customers know all about us or will find the specific information they need.

How can you help? By making sure that your content on the web is as ‘searchable’ as possible. So that people can find it among the billions of pages that are out there.

This is where Search Engine Optimization, or “SEO” for short, comes to the rescue. By optimizing your content for search engines, you can help people find the content they enter in the search field and, at the same time, raise your rankings. SEO is a long-term process, but it begins with a simple question: What are our visitors looking for and what words are they using in their searches?

This is the question you need to answer when you create content for the web. By using these terms, or keywords, in your headers and topic sentences, you will make it easier for search engines to pick them up.

After all, the Internet is all about seeing and being seen. And there is no point in being invisible, right?

Can Malaysian Make Money By Blogging? Part 2

I received comment from my posting on Can Malaysian Make Money By Blogging Part 1 from my ex-schoolmate Jibeng and he advised me to take it slowly and steady on my blogging journey. I agreed. In world of blogosphere, you have to be smart on how to generate your income without ignoring the fun of blogging. In the other way, your blog should have personality and not bluntly posting in order to fill in your blog.

Back to the topic, I couldn't agree more that we Malaysian can generate income from world wide web and blog especially BUT it is not that simple! You just can't assume that you create your blog today and you can start generate income right away. You have to gain your reputation first, build your blogging network with loyal reader and give them postings that they really want to read and keep looking for your next posting.

Do keep reading my post as I will continue my journey on making money online by blogging. I will share my experience along the way and do keep in touch.

Champions League: Arsenal 4-0 Twente Enschede

This update is brought to you by Soccernet

Arsenal brushed aside the challenge of Steve McClaren's FC Twente to secure a place in the lucrative group stages of the Champions League with a 4-0 victory at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners - who were already leading 2-0 from the first leg in Holland - impressed from kick-off and it was no surprise when they went ahead through French midfielder Samir Nasri after 27 minutes.
Captain William Gallas added another at the start of the second half, before England hopeful Theo Walcott got the goal his all-action display merited and Nicklas Bendtner tapped in late on to make it a miserable return home for former national-team head coach McClaren, who must now make do with the UEFA Cup.
For Arsenal, though, an estimated £25million jackpot awaits following qualification to Europe's elite club competition for an 11th straight campaign.

It certainly was a controlled start by the hosts, who forced the first corner after five minutes following a brave run by Walcott down the right.
The delivery from Robin van Persie flew across the six-yard box, but no-one was able to get a touch.
Denilson gave the ball away carelessly on the edge of the Arsenal penalty, but was fortunate Theo Janssen drove his low shot wide.
Twente defender Cheick Tiote fouled Bendtner 20 yards out, conceding a free-kick in a dangerous, central position.
Van Persie struck it well, but his effort was too straight and Nicolay Mihaylov collected comfortably.
Arsenal continued to dominate and it seemed only a matter of time before their aggregate lead was extended to wrap up the tie.
Nasri did well to stay on his feet and nip in down the left before cutting the ball back into the path of van Persie - only for the Dutchman to blaze his effort high over the crossbar.
The goal eventually came after 27 minutes.
Walcott broke down the right once more, and pulled the ball back to the far side of the box where van Persie stretched to prod it into the path of Nasri.
The £12million Frenchman weaved past his marker before sending in a low shot, which took a slight defection as it rolled into the net.
It was no more than the hosts deserved, with McClaren's men having been pressed onto the back foot from kick-off as the Gunners marched towards the Champions League proper again.
Arsenal now looked back to their free-flowing best - and Denilson should have added a second when another slick passing move released the Brazilian into the right side of the Twente box, but his low shot was blocked by the legs of Mihaylov.
The Gunners contrived to miss a string of further golden opportunities before the break - van Persie somehow curling a sitter wide from 10 yards after Walcott had again broken down the right.
Nasri - who missed the first leg a fortnight ago because of injury - was given a rest at the restart, replaced by Emmanuel Eboue.
The hosts continued their aggressive approach and doubled their advantage after 52 minutes.
The ball dropped to Bendtner on the left side of the penalty area and he cut inside before firing in a low shot, which the Twente keeper could only push back into the path of captain Gallas - who slotted home from close range, just as he had done in the first leg.
With the contest now over, it just seemed a matter of how many Arsenal would score to further embarrass the former England boss, who had entered this tie hoping to prove a point or two.
To their credit, Twente - playing with three frontmen - continued to push forward, but that left them vulnerable on the break. Wenger made more changes as the match entered the final 25 minutes with Togo frontman Emmanuel Adebayor replacing van Persie.
It was 3-0 soon after when Walcott scampered clear and produced a cool finish into the bottom right corner to get the goal his performance merited.
With the job now done there was no point in taking any risks and so Cesc Fabregas - in his first appearance of the season after a hamstring injury - came off for Alex Song - the Cameroon man just back from the Olympics.
Bendtner added a tap-in with a minute left, but for McClaren, the final whistle could not come soon enough.

Milan set to sign Arsenal defender Senderos

Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is expected to become the second Gunners player to join AC Milan this summer.

The 23-year-old Switzerland international joined Arsenal from Servette in 2003 and became a regular member of Arsene Wenger's back four.

His former Arsenal colleague Mathieu Flamini moved to the San Siro at the start of the summer.

Reports in Italy state that Arsenal and Milan have agreed a deal which will see Senderos move initially on a one-season loan, with the Serie A giants then having an option to make the transfer permanent.

EPL Wrap Up: Week 2

Another week passed by and EPL already went to second week. My Geovanni didn't harvesting points much and I missed on Elano double...*sigh*.

Blackburn 1 - 1 Hull City
Liverpool 2 - 1 Middlesbrough
Newcastle 1 - 0 Bolton
Stoke City 3 - 2 Aston Villa
Tottenham 1 - 2 Sunderland
West Brom 1 - 2 Everton
Fulham 1 - 0 Arsenal
Wigan 0 - 1 Chelsea
Man City 3 - 0 West Ham
Portsmouth 0 - 1 Man Utd

Arsenal look like they need to find replacement for Flamini and without injured Cesc Fabregas as they were defeated by Fulham 1-0. Deco scored second consecutive goal goal for Chelsea and Tottenham continue they losing streak. On the positive note, Luca Modric look promising as the playmaker proved to be livewire for Spurs.

Debutant Vincent Kompany hailed as Man of The match against West Ham as Sturridge scored first goal with Elano netted the second and third goal. For Fantasy Manager, Kompany value at 6.0 sure will be a good buy for third week. Maybe I will have a try on him.

Another value buy will be Amr Zaki, former Zamalek striker and part of Egypt team in Africa Cup. Although he didn't scored in week 2 against Chelsea, Sunderland game (third week) will be different.

Elsewhere, Owen scored against Bolton and Johan Elmander injured, Man Utd scrappy win against Portsmouth thanks to Darren Fletcher and another win for Liverpool.

Arsenal should gear up if they want to win this season and should bring another midfielder to pair with Fabregas...just my 2 cents...!

Olympics Update: Final Football

Nigeria 0-1 Argentina: Messi inspires golden moment

BEIJING - For much of the men's Olympic soccer tournament, the focus has been on Argentine star Lionel Messi, and given his undeniable skill on the ball, much of that attention is deserved.

But history has shown countless times that one-man teams don't win tournaments, and this was proven once again in Saturday's final, with Angel di Maria's goal giving Argentina a 1-0 victory over a game Nigeria side.

It was the Benfica midfielder's second game-winner in three matches, his first coming in extra time of the Albiceleste's 2-1 quarterfinal win over Holland. When combined with the way Argentina's defense stood firm, it made for a laundry list of heroes, which was manager Sergio Batista's plan all along.

"We tried to come up with a squad that would give us a good tactical variety," Batista said through an interpreter. "But the real goal is to put together a team. Each cog plays a role, and they played to their strengths. Each player contributed to this achievement."

That said, Messi's fingerprints were all over Argentina's second consecutive Olympic triumph. Pouncing on a loose ball in midfield in the 58th minute, a quick-thinking Messi stroked a gorgeous through ball, springing di Maria on a clear breakaway.

And with Nigeria's Ambruse Vanzekin off his line, di Maria's deft chip sailed over the stranded keeper and settled into the net for the game's only goal.

It was a rare moment of magic in a match hamstrung by a midday kickoff, a brain-dead decision that resulted in an on-field temperature of 42 degrees (or 107 degrees Fahrenheit).

Such oppressive conditions led FIFA to take the extraordinary step of instituting two breaks in the middle of each half so that players stayed properly hydrated. The move may have ensured the players' health, but it didn't increase the entertainment value.

"I think the heat affected both teams," Nigeria manager Samson Siasia said. "Most players weren't able to play to their level."

That was especially apparent in front of goal, where Nigeria spurned several clear chances. And it wasn't just wayward finishing that let Dream Team IV down.

Their day was summed up in the 34th minute when Sani Kaita's cross not only evaded two Argentine defenders, but surprised Promise Isaac to such an extent that the ball bounced off his shins and into the grateful arms of goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

There were other opportunities as well, with substitute Victor Anichebe's redirect of a Victor Obinna cross looking like a sure equalizer in the 84th minute, but Romero managed to deflect it just wide of his post.

"I don't know how the keeper got to it, to be fair," Anichebe said. "I put my foot to it and I thought it was going in, and then the keeper came back."

Nigeria's profligate finishing only magnified the absence of injured attacker Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi, who scored two goals - and apparently injured his shin - in the 4-1 semi-final defeat of Belgium. According to Siasia, Obasi has been in so much pain over the last few days that he couldn't even jog.

"I think we missed [Obasi] a lot," Siasia said, "because that guy can do some magic, create something out of nothing."

But for all the talk of Nigeria's woes in front of goal, the match was an even affair. Not only did Argentina enjoy a slight edge in possession, but they created some good chances of their own. di Maria had a clear look at goal in the 18th minute, only to scuff his attempt straight at Vanzekin. And five minutes into the second half the Nigeria keeper parried away a fierce drive from Messi.

It was then left to di Maria to show everyone how to finish, and his goal capped off a tournament in which he and Sergio Aguero did the most to take the pressure off Messi. And in the process, he also made a name for himself.

"[di Maria] was very important for us," midfielder Javier Mascherano said. "I think he's a great player. Everyone wants him now, and he showed his qualities as a player, no?"

That he did, as did 17 other players as well.

Can Malaysian Make Money by Blogging? Part 1

I just started blogging less than a month ago. I am aware about blogging trend a very long time ago but I never tried because I am not a good writer especially in English and I don’t have idea or specific things to write about. But what surprised me recently is that when I search phrases like “How to make money online” in Google Search, Page 1 of Google Search gave me result mostly from bloggers.

This is actually my motivation to start blogging! The search result drives me crazy and urged my butt to sit tightly in front of my laptop for hours. I browsed featured blogs on “how to make money online” and finally settled with one blog, http://www.5xmom.com/: $Make $Money Blog – Truth, No Scam. This blog’s title already gave a good impression and part of page ranking strategy adopted by author Lilian Chan. She is a famous blogger from Penang and claimed that she is making five figures MYR from blogging!

Actually the first ranked search is http://www.onlyinmalaysiamah.com/ but when I browse it, I considered it as a spam because it looks so lame. I do not know why onlyinmalaysiamah was ranked #1 for this search since there is nothing interesting rather than whole-page advertising. Maybe the author knows how to beat the Google “Algo”. Opss….I will post about Algo in my next next next next posting.

Back to http://www.5xmom.com/, the author share with her audience about experience on getting a lot of money through blogging. She claimed that she is a housewife without much knowledge in IT and internet but yet what she did was reviewing online product and the advertisers pay her handsomely. Other than reviewing product (by posting in her blog), she also take part in advertising program such as Adsense, Chitika, Nuffnang, Advertlets, Amazon and etc. This pay-per-click program is actually a main resource for blogger especially Adsense because it is so easy that you just let your visitors (accidentally) click on advertisement by Google place in your blog and Google will pay you base on how many click you got!!! Amazing isn’t it? This is what I am looking for.

So start from there, I create Murshidism: New Era of Journalism.

To be continued….I need to fetch my daughter lah…!

Shehan's Wedding

First of all, I would like to congratulate my best friend Shehan for his wedding with Suzieyanti. We went to his wedding reception at Setiawangsa and arrived there around 4pm. Old friends from PPP already there...Kojek and Liza, Raja Nizam, Coach (A-Level 14) and wife, Awang (A-Level 14), Pok Nik (A-Level 14) , Killy (A-Level 14), Sepul(ITM) and Jai (Malaysia's Serj Tankian of SOAD). Pity that Kodir couldn't come because he's attending his brother's wedding in Kelantan. I was told by Shehan that Ross came earlier with his family.

We had a photo session with the bride and groom and everybody laugh like pecah "perut" reminds me good old day when we were at college. Seems that everybody still looks the same and still recognizeable.

Anyway, we stayed there until 5pm and heading to NPE highway balik kampung to Maran. Again, I would like to congratulate Shehan for his wedding. May Allah bless you and have a happy marriage.

EPL Wrap Up: Week 1

My English Premier League team for BPL first week is Hull City. They create a surprise when defeated Fulham 2-1 on Saturday match. The dangerman for the Tiger is Geovanni (ex-Man City and Barcelona). I really hope they can do the Reading for this season. Speaking about this fella, I bought Geovanni for my Janggi FC team in Fantasy League for only 5.5 points and it's a bargain deal with Geovanni scoring 10 points for this week. I will maintain him for another week
with an away match against Rovers this weekend.

Other EPL results for Week 1 as follows:

Arsenal 1 - 0 West Brom
Bolton 3 - 1 Stoke City
Everton 2 - 3 Blackburn
Hull City 2 - 1 Fulham
Middlesbrough 2 - 1 Tottenham
West Ham 2 - 1 Wigan
Sunderland 0 - 1 Liverpool
Chelsea 4 - 0 Portsmouth
Aston Villa 4 - 2 Man City
Man Utd 1 - 1 Newcastle

Chelsea look strong and attractive under Big Phil. I am sure Chelsea will be a real title contender this season and looking to dethroned Man U along the way. Another big scoring match was Aston Villa 4 - 2 Man City where Gabriel Agbonlahor scored hattrick (both feet and a header). Elsewhere, Johan Elmander and Samir Nasri scored in their debut for Bolton and Arsenal respectively.

For the first time, Newcastle back line look so descent with Coloccini in charged. Although his hairstyle remind me of Michael Bolton, but former Milan and Depor player look comfortable with his new team-mate. Newcastle fight fiercely to hold Man U and they deserved a win I could say. Man U was pathetic with their reserved full of unknown school boys as Sir Alex trying to emulate Arsene Wenger'a formula at Arsenal. Rumours saying that Man U trying to buy Usain Bolt to pace up their striking force.

I was eager to watch new Spurs with excellent line-up such us Luka Modric, Giovanni dos Santos, David Bentley and Gomes but Juande Ramos team was defeated 1-2 in the opening match against Boro. Hope they can do better in the week 2 againts Sunderland's Black Cat.

Olympics: Badminton Update

Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei easily defeated Sonny Dwi Kuncoro 21-9, 21-11 in Olympics Beijing badminton singles category. Lee Chong Wei only took 32 minutes to defeat Sonny.

UEFA Champions League (Qualifying Third Round)

Spartak Moscow 1 - 4 Dynamo Kiev

Review: Look like an easy game for Dynamo Kiev. They will head to group round for sure.

Barcelona 4 - 0 Wisla Krakow

Review: 2 goals from Samuel Eto'o diminished the doubt that he will be heading out from Barcelona. Another goals were from Xavi and Henry

FC Twente 0 - 2 Arsenal

Review: Arsene Wenger fielded young squad including debutant Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Denilson, Djourou and Justin Hoyte. However it was Arsenal captain William Gallas and Adebayor who scored last night. It will be difficult for Arsenal if they continued with young and inexperienced player ahead of group stage. Maybe Arsene Wenger should consider a buy for midfielder and defender.

Schalke04 1 - 0 Atletico Madrid

Review: Sergio "El-Kun" Aguero with Argentina squad in Bejing...so what could we say. Atletico miss the striker so much.

Juventus 4 - 0 Artmedia

Review: The Old Lady is singing again. They will head to group stage for sure. After missing from the last two edition of Champions League, Juventus will try to mark their presence.

Standard Liege 0 - 0 Liverpool

Review: HAHahahah what can I say....lucky they got Reina to save their blushes. What happen to multi million pound investment on Robbie Keane, Ngog and the gang????

Olympics: Badminton Update

Malaysia's no 1 pair Koo Kien Kiet - Tan Boon Heong crashed on quarter finals after 2 set games againts Indonesian pair Markus Kido - Hendra Setiawan 16-21, 18-21. Meanwhile women single Lu Lan from China defeated Wong Mew Choo. So our last hope is Lee Chong Wei who will face Sonny Dwi Koncoro tonight. All the best to Lee Chong Wei.

Huawei Getting Stronger in Malaysia

I has been informed from reliable resource that Huawei had won contract to supply telecommunication equipment for DiGi3G. It was a major success for Huawei as they just won another big contract with Maxis to swap out their existing 3G equipment with Huawei particularly in Klang Valley.

From my experience working with Huawei, they seldomly getting the contract at the capital city or central business district area but this year is Huawei year. They start winning contract from operators all over the world and gaining momentum day by day.

Their key success factor is PRICE. They can beat any vendors and provide any services but their quality is a major doubt. Their staff also having major problem with language. Communication with customer is a massive problem for them and they had to rely on local staff for communication.

On the positive notes, Huawei will be a big player in telecommunication world ahead of Ericsson and NSN I would say.

Olympics:Badminton Update

BEIJING - Malaysia's hope to grab historic first Olympic gold medal was continued with national first pair, Koo Kien Keat - Tan Boon Heong ease through to quarter final. However, seasoned pair Choong Tan Fook - Lee Wan Wah was defeated by Korean pair Hwang Ji Man-Lee Jae Jin, 22-20, 13-21, 16-21.

Kien Keat - Boon Heong easily defeated Japan pair Shintaro Ikeda - Shuichi Sakamoto 21 - 12, 21 - 16 and this victory was a sweet revenge for them as the Japanase pair
defeated them in the last two tournament.

Kien Keat and Boon Heong displayed a good partnership and with a lot attacking and court-control which make the Japan stumble easily in the first set. On the second set, they keep on pressuring the Japan with rally play and finished off the game with 21 - 16.

Their next opponent in quarter final will be world no. 1 pair and World Champion Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan after the Indonesian pair defeated their Chinese opponent Guo Zhendong-Xie Zhongbo 22-20, 10-21, 21-17.

However, our national pair have a better statistical record because they already won the last 4 games with the Indonesian.

In another single match, Wong Choon Hann unable to get through to next round after failed to defeat Taiwanese shuttler Hsieh Yu-Hsing 21-14, 17-21,18-21. I'm quite dissapointed because Wong Choong Hann already defeated defending champion Taufik Hidayat prior to this match. Maybe his age and stamina has taken toll and exhausted Choon Hann unable to get through.

Malaysia's hope for gold medal now will be carried by Tan Boon Heong - Koo Kien Keat and Lee Chong Wei.

I will update the news from time to time.

Arsenal missing Fabregas for UCL qualifier

Arsenal will be without key midfielder Cesc Fabregas and several other first-team regulars for Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against FC Twente in Holland.

Fabregas (hamstring) joins the likes of Kolo Toure (hip), Abou Diaby (thigh), Philippe Senderos (hamstring) and summer signing Samri Nasri (knee/thigh) on the sidelines along with Tomas Rosicky and Eduardo, who are both recovering from long-term injuries.

The number of absentees means Wales Under-21 international Aaron Ramsey - who joined the Gunners in a £5million deal from Cardiff - could be handed a full competitive debut alongside young Brazilian Denilson in midfield.

Murshidism - Arsenal will have to deal with FC Twente wisely if want to go through to the group stage. I believe with the absence of Fabregas, Toure and Rosicky, will hamper their ambition to reach to the next stage. All the best Arsenal...!

Olympics Beijing: Badminton Update

Bright start for our Malaysian shuttler as Lee Chong Wei and Wong Choong Hann eased through quarter finals stage. Lee Chong Wei defeated Kestutis Navickas from Lithuania and Wong Choong Hann defeated Athen’s gold medallist Taufik Hidayat. Meanwhile, Korean dangerous player Lee Hyun-Il defeated Kenneth Jonassen after rubber set that saw genius net play by Lee Hyun-Il.

Lee Chong Wei will face Sony Dwi Koncoro from Indonesia in quarter finals and another good news is woman single Wong Mei Choo also qualified to quarter finals.

Middlesbrough bid for Arsenal defender Hoyte

Middlesbrough owner Steve Gibson has confirmed the club are awaiting a response from Arsenal after submitting an offer for defender Justin Hoyte.

Right-back Hoyte, 23, is seen by Boro as the ideal replacement for Luke Young who was allowed to move to Aston Villa last week.

Gibson told Sky Sports News: 'We have submitted a bid and we are waiting for Arsenal to respond.

'We've given it our best offer and we hope that it happens, but if it doesn't we move on.'

Villa agree £7.8m fee for Rangers star Cuellar

Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Rangers for Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar.
The 26-year-old will now discuss terms with Villa, whose bid has invoked a release clause in Cuellar's contract.
Rangers confirmed on Monday they had accepted a bid of £7.8m for the player who starred for the Gers in their run to last season's 2007/8 UEFA Cup Final.
Rangers signed Cuellar from Primera Liga side Osasuna in the summer of 2007.
Gers boss Walter Smith has expressed his disappointment at Cuellar's decision to leave.
He said: 'This has come as a surprise and I am disappointed. Carlos Cuellar has been a great player for the football club and inevitably there has been speculation about him playing in the Premiership.
'The club has received a substantial uplift in fee and we will now reinvest in the team.'
Cuellar is set to become Villa's sixth signing of the summer following Curtis Davies, Steve Sidwell, Luke Young, Nicky Shorey and Brad Friedel.

Optus blames Nokia software patches

FLAWED software patches from Nokia Siemens Networks have crippled Optus's 3G mobile network in Brisbane.
Optus subscribers in the city had intermittent interruptions of transmission of data and voice services from 6am yesterday, as the No2 telco battled to reconfigure a recent upgrade to its new 3G software platform.
The upgrade, to all Optus 3G mobile switches nationwide, was supposed to provide efficiency gains in speed and capacity. Instead, it triggered three network failures that combined to cause chaos for Optus customers in Queensland, NSW, ACT and Victoria last week.
Subscribers were without mobile phone services for 10 hours.
While the upgrade was successfully rolled back in Melbourne and Sydney, the problem recurred in Brisbane.
"We had a new patch put in place in the affected areas by midday last Friday but we now have a re-emergence of a similar problem in the Brisbane area," Optus spokesman Maha Krishnapillai said. He said Optus could offer no guarantees that the problem would not recur as it was related to a Nokia Siemens software fault.
"Nokia's latest version of the software was in effect 'contaminated'," he said. "We had a bug in the software so we have had to roll it back. The issue for us is that we have put the upgrade in other areas and have had no problems whatsoever -- so it's a bit of a lottery."
Engineers from Optus and Nokia Siemens were both responsible for the patch installation. Optus was unsure why the patch had worked in some areas but not others.
"There was extensive testing on both our parts and we were also assured by Nokia Siemens that the software would work in different (network) environments," Mr Krishnapillai said. "But when we went live it was a different story.
"Now we're just hoping the patch will hold. We can't say for sure whether or not we will have more issues over the next week in Brisbane."
Nokia Siemens declined to directly address Mr Krishnapillai's claims, saying it valued its close relationship with Optus. Spokesman Ben Roome said: "Experts from both companies are working in partnership to resolve any remaining network issues, as is always the case when any outage occurs."
Meanwhile, Optus has requested network engineers from Nokia Siemens' Finland headquarters to rectify the problem on-site.
"We have told Nokia to fly out some engineers because we certainly won't be flying them here," Mr Krishnapillai said.
He suggested Optus would be reviewing the service level guarantees it had in place with Nokia Siemens.
"We do have some service level guarantees with them and we will clearly be looking at whether the software they have given us is up to scratch," he said.
Mr Krishnapillai ruled out Optus pursuing legal action against Nokia Siemens or seeking compensation. He said: "As I'm sure Nokia would tell you, we are their most important customer in Australia and a very important customer throughout the SingTel group ... they will clearly want to make sure they work with us to fix this problem."

Olympics : Football Results

New Zealand 0 - 5 Brazil

Ronaldinho scored two second-half goals to lead Brazil to a 5-0 rout over New Zealand and a spot in the quarterfinals of the Olympic soccer tournament.Ronaldinho netted his first goal of the tournament with a free kick in the 54th minute, and added another with a penalty kick in the 61st. The two-time FIFA Player of the Year hadn't scored for Brazil in an official competition in nearly a year.Anderson opened the scoring less than three minutes in. Alexandre Pato scored in the 34th and Rafael Sobis added another goal in second-half injury time to keep Brazil on track for its first gold medal in soccer. The victory at Shenyang Olympic Stadium secures Brazil one of the top two spots in Group C and a trip to the second round.

Argentina 1 - 0 Australia

Ezequiel Lavezzi ended Australia's stubborn resistance and led Argentina to a 1-0 victory Sunday to put his team into the quarterfinals of the Olympic football competition. After Lionel Messi had missed three chances, Lavezzi ended a well-worked move to score a 78th-minute goal to give Argentina six points from two games. The Argentines also beat Ivory Coast 2-1.The Aussies have one point after a 1-1 draw with Serbia.

United States 2 - 2 Netherlands

The United States was within seconds of a major win and a quarterfinal berth in men's Olympic soccer. Now it's a tie away. The Americans allowed a goal on a free kick by Gerald Sibon in the third minute of injury time, forcing them to settle for a 2-2 tie with the Netherlands on Sunday night and swallow a lot of frustration. "We were very close to being in the quarterfinals, and now we are very far," U.S. coach Peter Nowak said. "Before the game, nobody gave us a chance. And I think we played pretty good. You can look at his as half empty or half full." The result left the United States with four points, tied atop Group B with Nigeria and two ahead of the Netherlands. Japan has zero. Only two teams advance. The U.S. team faces off against the Nigerians on Wednesday in the final group game for both in Beijing. The Dutch will need a victory against Japan while the United States, with a superior goal difference to Nigeria, will require only a tie to advance. "I'm still really bummed," U.S. midfielder Robbie Rogers said. "That's the best I've seen us play." The Americans fell behind in the 16th minute on a goal by Ryan Babel, but made a tactical change soon afterward and began to control the match. Sacha Klejstan and Jozy Altidore scored eight minutes apart to give the United States a 2-1 lead by the 72nd minute. Klejstan tied the game in the 64th minute, running onto a through ball from Freddy Adu, cutting inside and turning defender Kew Jaliens before blasting a right-footed shot past goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer. "When I scored that goal, we went and picked it up," Klejstan said. "Our confidence just continued to grow." Eight minutes later with the Americans pressing again, the ball squirted wide left to defender Michael Orozco, who drove it back across the penalty area and Altidore knocked it in with his right knee. But as the game wore on and the Dutch saw their Olympic chances dwindling, caution was no longer an option. Sibon entered the game in the 75th minute with fellow forward Roy Makaay, who injured his foot in the Netherlands' 0-0 draw with Nigeria on Wednesday and initially was reported to be unavailable. The United States fought off all chances until the Dutch earned a free kick 25 yards from goal, and Jonathan de Guzman and Urby Emanuelson were unsure who should take it. "When I came in, they said they weren't sure, and so I said 'I'll take it," Sibon said. "You just blast it on goal and see where it lands." Sibon's low drive eluded goalkeeper Brad Guzan to send the Dutch to its game against winless Japan with renewed hopes of reaching the quarterfinals. "If you look at the replay, it goes right under the wall," Guzan said. "Unfortunately, we were the better team for 70 minutes. We let two points get away from us. "After tonight, we'll put this behind us. We'll go to Beijing looking for a win. You don't go into these games looking for a draw, or looking to score 'x' amount of goals. We're completely confident."

Community Shield: United sink Pompey on penalty

Man Utd have won the first silverware of the new season, picking up the FA Community Shield at Wembley after beating Portsmouth on penalties. Darren Fletcher had the best chance of the match in normal time after mis-kicking from five yards out, but awful penalty misses from Lassana Diarra, Arnold Mvuemba and Glen Johnson ensured United won the trophy.

Olympics: Messi on target as Argentina win

Lionel Messi emphasised his importance to Argentina, scoring one goal and setting up the winner as the south Americans kicked off their Olympic campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Ivory Coast.

Just hours after Barcelona confirmed they would allow Messi to remain in Beijing for the duration of the tournament, he showed his star power to inspire Argentina at the Shanghai Stadium.
Messi put Argentina ahead two minutes before the interval when he coolly sidefooted past Ivory Coast keeper Oscar Ustari.
However, the Ivory Coast threatened to spoil the party when they drew level eight minutes after the break through Sekou Cisse.
But the masterful Messi was not to be undone and just four minutes from time he squared the ball across the face of goal for Lautaro Acosta to tap home.
Host nation China opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw with New Zealand in front of 41,407 fans in the Shenyang Olympic Stadium.
But it took an equaliser two minutes from time to rescue a point as Fangzhuo Dong cancelled out Jeremy Brockie's 53rd-minute opener.
Cameroon drew 1-1 with Korea as another late goal, this time from Georges Mandjeck earned a point for Africans.
A strong Netherlands side was held to a 0-0 draw by Nigeria.
Earlier, Brazil were made to work for it but got their campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory over nine-man Belgium at the Shenyang Olympic Stadium.
Belgium had Vincent Kompany sent off 20 minutes from time and Hernanes took full advantage to get the crucial goal after 79 minutes before Marouane Fellaini followed Kompany for an early shower.
Sebastien Giovinco was on target and two penalties from Giuseppe Rossi and Roberto Acquafresco gave Italy a 3-0 win over Honduras.
Stuart Holden's strike gave the United States a 1-0 win over Japan and Australia were held to a 1-1 draw by Serbia.

Friendlies: Young Gunners win Chapman Trophy

Huddersfield 1-2 Arsenal

Arsenal's youngsters took home the Herbert Chapman Trophy after two goals in the last 15 minutes gave them victory over Huddersfield at the Galpharm Stadium on Wednesday night.
The match was held to celebrate Huddersfield's centenary, with the cup named after the legendary manager of both clubs in the 1920s and 30s.
James Berrett gave the hosts the lead after 75 minutes but Sanchez Watt quickly equalised and Nacer Barazite grabbed the winner three minutes from time.
Justin Hoyte denied Luke Beckett with a last-ditch saving tackle when the striker was clean through on goal with quarter of an hour gone.
Theo Walcott - the only household name given a run-out by Arsene Wenger - was then denied by an impressive double stop by Terriers keeper Matt Glennon but the hosts gave as good as they got.
The second half saw more Gunners youngsters given a chance but it was Huddersfield who took the lead 15 minutes from time through teenager Berrett's deflected shot.
That was harsh on Arsenal, who had the better of things in the second half, but they only had to wait a matter of minutes to get their equaliser through Watt.
Penalties would have decided the match had it finished level but that outcome was avoided as Glennon failed to hold Barazite's shot.

"They" did it again

07 August 2008, Damansara - Massive one way traffic jam suffered by motorist here as police setup a road block at Sprint Highway towards Bangsar.

It is similar situation happened last time when they blocked people from entering Parliament House last month as minister claims that he has been informed that there will be massive gathering in front of Parliament House.

Today DSAI will be summoned to court to be charged with having carnal intercourse against the order of nature charge and that's why "they" afraid it will happen again.

From my opinion, working class people doesn't care and we don't want to waste our time gather in front of high court. We have work to do. We have family to feed. With petrol price and goods rising up...who want to do rally anyway...?

We're Gunner be wiser, says Sagna

When Sagna crowned his outstanding first season in English football by putting Gunners ahead against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Easter Sunday, they looked a good bet for the championship.

But Chelsea hit back to win with two Didier Drogba goals and Sagna badly damaged an ankle - putting him out for the rest of the campaign - and Wenger's side, minus several crocked stars, finished four points behind champions Manchester United.

This summer, Arsenal have been hit by the defections of key midfielders Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb.

But fit-again Sagna insists he has already seen enough in pre-season to suggest his side can still be a major force - with vital contributions from much-coveted striker Emmanuel Adebayor and new midfielder Samir Nasri.

Sagna, who made his comeback in Sunday's 1-0 Emirates Cup win over Real Madrid vowed: "We will try to be wiser.

"We need to show people we are still the Gunners and can win the title."

He admitted: "It was difficult for me personally to see my team-mates losing points (when he was injured), but it was not just me.

"Everything changes, players have to play in what is not their right positions and it is really difficult when you have to change things."

The France international, however, insists that things can only get better.

He said: "I am very happy because until now I have not been playing for five months. So it is great to be back here with all my mates.

"We have been getting better and better. We are playing quite well at the moment and have won against a top team like Real.

"We showed everyone we can still play well, even if we have lost some players.

"Now we have to win the title. We play to win everything and we will try to do it.

"Samir Nasri is a very good player and we are lucky to have signed him. I have played alongside him in the French national team and I know he will find his place in the Arsenal team."

Sagna also backed Nasri to step into the shoes vacated by Hleb: "I think he can do it and will show everyone he can play very well."

And Sagna insists the Adebayor controversy - after his decision to stay on and sign a new contract despite apparently being courted by Barcelona and Italy's AC Milan - is now firmly in the past.

"Everyone, the fans as well, are all very happy. He is a very good player and it is important for us to keep him," he said. "I am confident he can do it again and he wants to show he is always a good player.

"Even if people were speaking to him this summer, he stayed and that is good for us."

Tottenham Eyeing £60million Triple Swoop?

Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos will continue his summer spending spree with a triple swoop for David Villa, Andrei Arshavin and Vedran Corluka, according to reports in the UK press.

However, if Spurs want to secure all three deals they will have to stump up another £60million, having already spent £30million on five players during the transfer window.

The Sun claim that Tottenham are ready to smash the British transfer record with a sensational £32million swoop for Valencia striker Villa and will fund the bid with the sale of want-away striker Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United for £30million.

Real Madrid are also interested in signing the Spanish international, who helped La Rojas win Euro 2008, but Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo insists his client is keen to head to the Premier League.

'David likes London and likes how Spurs play under Ramos. If they present an offer, Valencia will seriously study the subject,' Tamargo said.

If the deal goes through Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will make the striker the club's top earner with a huge £100,000-a-week deal.

Meanwhile, The Independent claim Zenit St Petersburg playmaker Arshavin is on his way to White Hart Lane after the Russian club lowered their asking price of £21million.

Tottenham have offered £15.6m for Arshavin but, having banked around £20m for Robbie Keane could easily increase their offer to an acceptable level.

Arshavin has told Zenit that he wants to leave and the Russian club's president Alexander Dyukov is due to meet with the player's agent, Dennis Lachter, in Madrid to discuss the Russia international's future.

The 28-year-old forward has rejected an improved contract offer from Zenit and although the £50,000-a-week deal at Tottenham is not the most lucrative on offer Arshavin still wants to move to London.

Spurs boss Ramos is also set to boost his defence with the £6.8 million capture of Croatian international Corluka from Manchester City, according to The Times.

The continuing fitness concerns about captain Ledley King and the erratic form of Michael Dawson means a defender is a high priority for Tottenham.

Although Corluka played as a right-back at Eastland's last season Ramos views the versatile defender as a long term central-defensive partner for Jonathan Woodgate.

Spurs have been very busy rebuilding the side this summer under former Seville coach Ramos: England's David Bentley, Croatian star Luka Modric, PSV keeper Gomes, Barcelona's Giovanni Dos Santos and Crystal Palace starlet John Bostock have already joined the club.

Friendlies: Arsenal 1-0 Real Madrid

Emmanuel Adebayor went some way to winning back the hearts and minds of all Arsenal fans with the goal which beat Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Emirates Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Togo striker - who was Arsenal's top scorer with 30 goals last season - had been the subject of fevered transfer speculation during the summer, only to dismiss it all as pure conjecture when announcing he would sign a new contract extension with the Gunners.

Before on Saturday's opening game against Juventus, some sections of the Emirates Stadium faithful had let their frustrations be known, which manager Arsene Wenger later described as 'disappointed love'.

However, the 6ft 3ins striker was all smiles again as he converted a penalty five minutes into the second half - and kissed the badge in celebration with the fans behind the goal.

In Arsenal's opening game against Juventus on Saturday, which was lost 1-0, Wenger had opted for a youthful starting XI.

However, Sunday's team was much more familiar - led by captain William Gallas, as Robin van Persie and Adebayor also came in, and there was a full home debut for summer signing Samri Nasri on the left of midfield.

Euro 2008 winner Cesc Fabregas was given some more rest, and centre-back Kolo Toure, recovering from a mild bout of malaria, was another first-team absentee.

Before kick-off, injured Arsenal striker Eduardo - who broke his leg at Birmingham in February - was given a rousing reception as he walked onto the pitch unaided to salute the Emirates Stadium crowd, and the Croatian international could be back in contention by October.

Real had the likes of Chelsea target Robinho, Guti, captain Raul, one-time Arsenal forward Julio Baptista, former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze and former Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek in their team.

Arsenal started brightly with Adebayor and Van Persie working the ball well on the edge of the penalty area before Theo Walcott's low, angled drive was well held by Dudek.

Then, a swift counter-attack set up Denilson 20 yards out, but the young Brazilian's strike was blocked.

Adebayor should have put the home side in front on 32 minutes when Van Persie floated over a cross from the left - only for the Togo frontman to plant his header wide from six yards.

Javier Garcia then came within inches of giving Real the lead when he whipped a 25-yard effort just over Manuel Almunia's crossbar.

Dudek scrambled an angled volley from Denilson behind and then tipped over Adebayor's looping header as Arsenal looked to get themselves ahead before the break.

The Gunners did take the lead four minutes after the restart when referee Mark Clattenburg ruled Michel Salgado had barged over Van Persie in the penalty box and pointed to the spot.

Adebayor made no mistake from 12 yards - and ran straight to the Arsenal fans behind the goal, kissing the club badge on his shirt.

There was an injury worry for Real when, on the hour mark, Holland international Wesley Sneijder had to be carried off on a stretcher after appearing to twist his knee in an awkward fall after a tackle.

Young Mexican Carlos Vela and Emmanuel Eboue were sent on, for Van Persie and Walcott, as Wenger freshened up his frontline.

Adebayor came close to making it 2-0 when he charged through the Real defence and into the box - only to slide the ball wide from six yards.

The Togo striker was, though, now back on side with the home faithful, who were chanting his name once more.

Arsenal's victory saw them finish third in the final Emirates Cup table, with Hamburg - now managed by former Tottenham boss Martin Jol - securing the trophy after they beat Juventus 3-0 in the day's other match.

Adebayor keen to win over fans

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is determined to win over any remaining doubters in the Emirates crowd after pledging himself to the club.

He insists he is as committed as ever to Arsene Wenger's side but admits that the rumours have not helped his relationship with the fans.

While he has been cheered by the majority of the club's supporters in the ongoing Emirates Cup, there have been some dissenting voices. Now Adebayor intends to win them over.

'I'm very happy. As a footballer a lot of clubs will look for you but this club is one of the biggest in the world, there are lots of young players and I have a big chance to have a good career at this club,' he told Sky Sports.

'When there is a lot of speculation they (the fans) believe what they read in the newspapers. The most important thing is to keep on enjoying your football.

'Some of the fans will love you and some will hate you but I'm in a good position and most fans love me. For me, what happened this summer is over.

'You have to come on the pitch, enjoy your football and show them you have desire to play for their team.

'Today I am where I am because they gave me a lot of chances.'

Another Arsenal forward, Croatian striker Eduardo, earned an unequivocal ovation from the crowd when he was paraded ahead of tonight's glamour tie against Real Madrid.

He has not played since suffering a sickening leg break against Birmingham last season but is already targeting a first-team return before the end of the year.

He said: 'I was in Brazil for my rehabilitation and for four months I have worked hard every day for six or seven hours.

'For me it is hard because I like playing and five, six, seven or eight months without playing is very hard for a player.'

Asked when he would be match-fit, he said: 'I would like to play tomorrow but I don't know. Before Christmas maybe.'

Friendlies: Trezeguet goal sinks young Gunners

Emirates Cup: Arsenal 0-1 Juventus

A first-half David Trezeguet goal gave Juventus a 1-0 victory over hosts Arsenal in the pre-season Emirates Cup tournament in London on Saturday.

French forward Trezeguet struck from an offside-looking position after 38 minutes, stretching out a leg to deflect Vincenzo Iaquinta's free kick past Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Real Madrid defeated Hamburg SV 2-1 earlier in the day thanks to a late goal from teenager Daniel Parejo.

Parejo, a Spanish under-19 international, headed the winner five minutes from time after Hamburg's Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan had earlier cancelled out Ruud van Nistelrooy's first-half goal with a fine dipping shot nine minutes after the break.

Hamburg's Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart did not appear amid media speculation he was on the verge of a transfer to the Spanish champions.
